Joseph Kones
Manager

Mr. Joseph Kones, who has been recognized world wide as a climate change witness and has been awarded for various conservation initiatives, is the manager of Amani Mara. He is passionately involved in projects which benefit both the environment and the community. Most recently his work with the Mara River Water User's Association has won an international award for their efforts in the protection and conservation of the Mara River catchment area. He has worked closely with the WWF (World Wide Fund For Nature) in various projects where conservation of the environment is key to the survival of the various ecosystems throughout kenya, and in order for his vision of a better, greener, kenya, Joseph constantly involves himself with communities to educate them not only on how their current practices have a detrimental impact on the environment, but also on the concepts of sustainability and how to care for their environment in order to reap its benefits.

Paul Itotia
Head Chef

Paul is the Head Chef at Amani Mara. The dedication and effort he has put in over the years in the culinary field has rewarded him with distinguished skills. Even with the simplest of dishes, one can immediately identify that it is the work of a true chef.

John Temut
Head Driver

Our head driver John has grew up in the Maasai Mara. His interest was always in the diversity of animals that are present in the Mara. This led him to pursue his studies with the focus of wildlife. John has many years of experience as a driver in the Mara, and stories of past make great entertainment for guests.
