Maasai Mara - The 8th Wonder of the World

The Maasai Mara, home of the big five, is Africa's Greatest Wildlife Reserve situated in Kenya. It is without a doubt Africa's most famous safari destination, attracting millions of visitors a year to see the diversity of animals on offer.

The Maasai Mara Ecosystem holds one of the highest lion densities in world and is also where The Great Migration takes place, composing an estimate of over two million Wildebeest, Zebra and Thomsons Gazelle. With this grand journey comes the highly anticipated action involving a variety of predators and scavengers. From the Lions, Leopards and Cheetahs, to the Nile Crocs, to the Hyenas and Vultures.

Apart from the seasonal migration, gameviewing is excellent year round. Game includes, the famous big five; elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion, and leopard. Visitors will never fail to encounter game, as the Maasai Mara hosts one of the greatest varieties of animals in a single reserve.

The Masai Mara National Reserve lies about 270 kilometers from Nairobi, and takes about 4 to 5 hours by road depending on the conditions. There are also scheduled flights available, twice daily from Nairobi's Wilson Airport, which will take approximately 40 - 45 minutes.
